Sudan project "de-sprue" part I

After Xmas load dropped and a storage dive, the number of boxed plastic dudes is way too space consuming. All these bastards are going to Argentina with me. The airlines and their baggage bullshit forces a de-sprue night.

Just think of 14 boxes of soldiers stuffed into a bag. And This was round two of the de-sprue. It took about two hours (while cooking dinner).

1 Muslim Warrior
1 British Command
1 French Legion
1 Scotish
1 British Cav
2 HAT Dervish warrior
2 Dervish Camel Cav
2 Egyptian Inf
1 India Lancers
Odd Brit lot
Odd Muslim lot

669 between this group, 6mm HH, and the metal 20mm plus the lot pulled from storage. I have more in bound. The plan is to paint all these bastards by the end of the year. About two hundred are easy Egyptians.

Hola Santa.

Thankfully long ago we all came to the conclusion that present shopping for Christmas is a waste. We are all old and our hobbies/interests are so specialized it is near impossible for anyone without the same hobbies/interests to locate anything. And more than likely beyond what someone wants or is able to pay.
         Very loving family and a understanding wife supported Santa dropping a load this year. ( I shopped for them. They did the wrapping) The goodies;

WasteLand Games. I love this dudes stuff! More liquid gas balls and ConX boxes.

I wanted the towers. Can not remember exactly why, but the towers were the excuses of the walls and pill box

Look at these dragon teeth! Wasteland’s quality and skill makes ForgeWorld look like a pack of retards. I will be stamp casting them.

China Forge World
HH armor mark marines
HH Termies
HH breacher marines
Thudd guns
Marine Fighters
2 sets of Objectives. Plus an extra? Sweet.
Downed T-Hawk

Gamescraft 6mm desert buildings. And the only shit here “made in the USA”

Best yet The Black Hawk down buildings. The “Olympic Hotel” and the “target” building.
Terrific detail.

         Re-enforcements for the Sudan Project.

I ordered the rule set a month or so ago. Had it shipped to the states. The book is as expected, have not look at it too much. The Quick Reference is very nicely made. The cards sadly are on a light stock. I would have or expected a heavy weight card stock used for production.

The NewLineDesign metals. Some Naval Brigade, Naval guns and crew, the rest Tribal warriors and Dervishes. And some wounded british to be used as markers.

This lot my very good friend bird dogged for me at HMGS’ Fall In. They are OOP now.

And this lot, well it took it’s sweet ass time in the mail. Of course arriving days just after I left the states last.

We all know I will be stamp casting these Fps! Why not just case them up like every other thing. Well Smooth On is not easily obtainable in Argentina.

You may ask; Old boy did you not, just before you left, sell a cubic butt ton of Epic FW terrain?

Yes I did and I then went straight back to the resin crack pipe. But in my defense, I did not have these?????

Now I believe these items will be added on to the desert table.

Sudan project year end WIP

So not enough bases? Never packed the correct bases or basing material. I am short 60 x 60mm, 60 x 30mm, and all my flock /sand & grass tuffs.

unsealed/unbased Dervish Camel riders

unfinished/unbased Camel Corps

Indian line Command Stand

There is a lot on the painting tray that requires less than a few hours. All these will inflate the first quarters painting numbers.

UpDate;      Time blew by! Nothing got touched the last few days here. Between parties and loading up to return stateside, I never even played football this week. Next year?

Primed Porters and Skirmishers

Primed Egyptian Artillery + Command Stand, and markers

Year End wrap up

Yep I am early, but I return stateside in 4 days. Plus there is a wedding on Friday and protests on Monday. So I have to drink enough beer at the wedding not to jump out of the bus and engage the fuckers blocking the highways in B.A. Nothing is getting done between now and wheels up.

Looking back; I never wrote down the goals for the year. I did have a plan. I wanted to finish my modern 20mm, and 20mm Colonial (Sudan), and start my 15mm ACW. Or at least that is what I took with me when I left the states on 29DEC2015.
The only thing start was the 20mm Sudan. And a very late start at that. Nothing was started until I returned in May from selling the house stateside. I did completely paint all the 200mm modern dudes and markers that where pre-primed. The 15mm ACW was never taken out of the box.

        Giant FUBARS;

* Not packing the complete set for the Airbrush

* Not packing enough bases

         Small Wins

* Some how some (very few) Epic made the trip

* Long Lost terrain pieces showed up!!!

* Being in Argentina stopped the lead buying

         Completed

6mm Epic

20mm Modern    5 US dudes, 3 News crews, 8 Afhgan Civilians, 6 Africans, 6 Afhgan fighters, 4 Dickers, 8 IEDs, and 15 weapons caches.

20mm Sudan   13 stands of Brits+ 2 India + a Command, 15 stands of Dervish/Tribals + Command + 3 Camel riders

Sudan project XV "Camel Corps"

These 3 dudes are not from the Hat set. They were primed and looking for some love on the painting table.

Colors blocked in on the riders. Details and highlights to go.

The existing problem with completing the Camel Corp is bases. I have no more 60 x 60mm bases here in Argentina. I should be able to bring more 3mm 60 x 60 bases with me when returning from the states.

Sudan project WIP

With a sunny, not so hot day, the airbrush came out. I have been assembling and cleaning dudes            to prime. If the temperature was hotter than Kuwait, it was raining. Finally I got a day with questionable temps. When it is this hot the paint dries in the airbrush and you will get little dots on the dudes.

These metal dude are actual from an Afghan range. But they will fit the bill for skirmishers.

These two clowns are from the Waterloo set.

Egyptian Art, are from Scarlet? Above is the Cmd stand, low ammo maker, and a rally marker. The two guns are from the same set. And below them are the gun crews. No bases for these dudes as I will need to source them over Xmas break.
