Sudan project update.

The days continue to tick by with no finished minis. My goal of painting 700 plus seems far off. Let alone finishing the Sudan project. At least I have put in more time painting this week than all year. It is time to get focused and bang out some minis.

Everyone on the work bench left over from last year are now washed, inked, and sealed. Painting the lip of the base and a highlight here and there, thats it.

Next up are the Egyptian Artillery guns & crew, a CMD stand, and markers.

Why did some wonderful individual choose blue plastic on an army that wears white uniforms? WTF, dude? Those are primed and with 3 light coats of Foundry 67A. Still hints of blue show through.

Got my socks blown off

So there I am minding my own business.

or

         This is a no shitter.

The two ways that every great story starts. Mine has to lead off with, “This is a no shitter.” On a sunny hot as fuck day in Argentina, we are off to see the Lego Batman movie. The Casino is the only place. It is nice and super modern. Yet, sadly for me the movie is only in spanish. I don’t understand a thing. We walk up buy our tickets. Then go for a beer, waiting for the movie to start. As we turn around and walk away,

                                              BAM!!!! An Angel of Death.

The Blood Ravens are in Argentina? What are they here for Hilter too? Of all the places I never in a hundred beers time thought a fucking Space Marine would be here. So excited! I had wood.
Then my six year old stood next to him. He is kind of short for a space marine. Hell I should try out the Ravens! Maybe 6 1/2 feet tall and the bolt pistol is double the caliber, like 30mm. Thank GW, for screwing up the scale again. There goes my wood.

Sudan project February Basing I

After diving into storage, I finally have some bases. All the camels are on 60 x 60mm and the dismounted Camel Corps are on 60 x 40mm, 3mm MDF.

Using wall board patch the ground is built up to the same height as the mini’s stand.

Next the ground is stained with Vallejo Mahogany Sand 139. In the past I have use a brown. It caused the sand to be super dark. One or two tuffs added here or there. Tuffs are from Game Craft Miniatures.

My flocking material is now construction sand and this stuff.

Lancaster Host update

HMGS, Inc. Board of Directors

Lancaster Host Renovation Update, February 2017
With a little less than a month till the Cold Wars convention, we wanted to provide a brief update on the progress of renovations to the hotel which was provided by the management:
  • New boilers have been installed. The temporary boiler trailer in the back will be removed in the next two weeks. There are no longer any problems with water pressure and hot water.
  • All rooms now have the new air conditioner/heating units installed.
  • All rooms have the new windows installed.
  • All ground level rooms have new patio doors installed.
  • Work is now beginning on new bathrooms (50 rooms at a time). This will limit out of service rooms to a maximum of 50 at Cold Wars.
  • Management met with the design team in January regarding the bar and restaurant area. Expansion plans look very good and just need to be approved by the new franchisor.
We should have more renovation updates at the Cold Wars membership meeting. Hope to see you at the convention.
Respectfully,
John Spiess

30K Horus Heresy World Eaters "Objectives"

THE ORIGINAL FW BATTLE TILE

The new objectives were washed in dish soap. Little to no cleaning of mold lines or removal of rubber was required. The were primed with Home Depot’s cheapest. Next washed with Army Painter’s Strong Tone. Before the wash was dry, a second wash of Vallejo’s Burnt Umber 148 was worked in.

Vallejo’s Hull Red 146 was used for the brick and tread’s base.

Vallejo’s Blue 052 is the base color for WE blue. The rubble in the back is picked out with water down Hull Red.

All the same as above. Using Foundry 101C working in some burn marks.

Still a long way to go. Not to bad for about an hours time.

30K Horus Heresy World Eaters

Status updated on the WE project. (This is meant for my reference.) What is currently finished.

Also the new resin objectives have shown up.

Monuments are dust, tales merely words, soon forgotten, but blood… blood is forever.”           I have some new ChinaForge to work on. Hopefully I can add 3 to 4 detachments this year. Or at least have them awaiting basing.

World Eaters

Of all the Space Marine Legions in the service, the World Eater’s were among the most feared, the whisper of their coming was enough to quell rebellion and send armies to flight in terror. Tales of their predations and massacres were numberless, and their reputation was as the Emperor’s war hounds, as such a name they once carried — beasts, butchers and madmen whose fury was fuelled by bloodshed, and was such that no sane warrior would stand willingly against them.
The following formations are available to a World Eaters army in addition to or in place of those already in the core legion army list.
