20mm & Books & Epic Army

So, I got a problem. Miniatures like crack to me. This is the crack before I get to Cold Wars & AdeptiCon. We all know I will be buying shit there too. I need to get some self control.

The goodies awaiting for me stateside. The 20mm Tali were ordered back last summer. Crazy back order.

These will be added to the very big pile of 20mm Sudan

More books. All of which were sourced for ABE.

If I could go back in time, Vol I&II would be the first books I would get.

This piggy had to come from England. Another must have book.

The Epic Eldar army. I paid 400 +/-. The lot was packed in toilet paper. All individually wrapped and jammed into a box. Jammed! A lot more care should have been used when shipping a heavy army internationally.

This is the bunch broken up in shipping. Simple repairs. No chipped paint.

Cold Wars Weather UPDATE!!!!

I don’t know about you, but my flights are good tonight and tomorrow. I am coming in to Atlanta tomorrow morning and we are on schedule.

The radar looks good. Dad lives in Lancaster and says the snow is about finished!

The weather tomorrow, Wednesday, is light snow. That is if you are a northern boy. Thursday is warm and sunny!

27°HIRealFeel® 9°Precipitation 64%
Windy, very cold with blowing and drifting snow; cloudy with a couple of snow showers

Cold Wars & AdeptiCon

Weather or not. My flights say on time. Fletcha bus rolls out for EZE at 7:40. 7hrs on the bus to Retirio. Another 1.5 on the Leon to EZE.

Delta was a total mess today. The baggage system was done. The belt that moves the bags was down.

Next is Delta at 8pm to Atlanta and then on to Harrisburg, PA. See ya Thursday night at the Host.

Tau are packed and the list is painted. Chessex case is the best for small army traveling!

Don’t know about any one else. But does every single joker at security love to look at your miniatures. Mine just took the security check point tour. You would have thought, I was handing out free 8 balls the way they were collected around me.

Road to Cold Wars & AdeptiCon part IX

The final push. I have one day left. Wheels up on Delta SkyMile points. Tuesday morning at 07:40 I get on a bus for EZE. I arrive in Harrisburg for Cold Wars Wednesday at 11:53.

All have been washed, dipped and sealed. Only some base work and final highlight here and there.

 These guys will get finished

These dudes will not. I am not running so many rail heads

These dudes will.

Road to Cold Wars & AdeptiCon part VIII

Time is running short. I must focus on the units in the list, not the entire army. Also it seems between playing Kal in January and getting back to Argentina, I have misplaced 5 circle bases for the recon units. I can only hope they are with the kroot chilling at mom’s house in Lancaster.

No reason why the back row looks darker than the front row???

Back to the original complaint. WFT white? A little better looking with the new bases.

I have finished my current book. Finally! It was terrific. There is no real reason as to why  took so long to get thru it. Mahdist Wars. Now on to the Victoria Cross heroes.

My two cents

I hunt everything. I love the taste of wild game. i rent the dogs we use.

Chris and his “gun dogs” are his business.

If I buy the dog trained, it better do exactly as it should. Your are paying straight out the ass for it. These are working dogs. Not the dog you climb into bed with.

If you want a dog that is trained in the new age hippie ways, great! buy your dog there. If you want one trained old school, buy from chris.

Either way your not going to a puppy mill and dropping a sweet grand on a dog that is a pet. It is a working dog! WTF?

You don’t cry about the poor bastard, his family & living conditions or anything else, that supplies your turkish walnut stock. you only want that safe queen to jerk off too. zero difference

Road to Cold Wars & AdeptiCon part VII

6 days before wheels up and 9 days till Cold Wars!

More Tau finished. I still have a 1/3rd or so to go. Not counting an additions & objectives or new parts incoming.

Last group of Fire Warriors. (After the tourneys, I will go back and make all the helmets orange)

 8 Pathfinders, 5 Suits, 6 Broadsides.

4 Piranhas and some WIP in the background

There remains 4 piranhas, 6 broadsides, 3 orcas, 3 fusion heads, 4 devilfish, 11 rail heads, 12 tetras.

Road to Cold Wars and AdeptiCon part VI

There are only ten days to HMGS’ Cold Wars. I have half an army to bring up to standards.

Six Stealth Suits

SkyRays and Devilfish. The problem is what to base them with. I have nothing here. I don’t want them on 40 x 40 square. All the recon detachments are on 25mm circles with 3.5-4mm height. Uniformity says I should have height with the tank bases. My HH WEs are on a 4mm high base. Maybe I can grab some 30mm circle bases at Cold Wars?
As a side note; I just bought a completely painted Eldar army from some dude in the UK.

GW at AdeptiCon cares???

Flag on the play! GW is so full of shit. Does anyone actually believe they will do a blow by blow analysis of WIP rules?

“Now, we’ll grant you, ‘Studio Preview’ doesn’t give much away, and we can’t tell you too much here either (lest we ruin the surprise) but we can tell you it’s not just a bunch of pictures on a powerpoint slide. Because, sure, anything we show you will end up on the internet, and even right here on the Warhammer Community site, quicker than a Speed Freek can rev his engine (it’s unofficial Ork day here in the office).
If you go to the preview event, you’ll not only get to handle a host of new miniatures, (some of which won’t be out for almost a year) you’ll get to play some games with them. And not just any game, a brand new game. On top of that, we’ve even commissioned some special dice for attendees to keep as a momento. And, that’s not even all. You’ll also get to see some new game mechanics we’ve got in mind for existing games and give us your thoughts.”
