20mm & Books & Epic Army

So, I got a problem. Miniatures like crack to me. This is the crack before I get to Cold Wars & AdeptiCon. We all know I will be buying shit there too. I need to get some self control.

The goodies awaiting for me stateside. The 20mm Tali were ordered back last summer. Crazy back order.

These will be added to the very big pile of 20mm Sudan

More books. All of which were sourced for ABE.

If I could go back in time, Vol I&II would be the first books I would get.

This piggy had to come from England. Another must have book.

The Epic Eldar army. I paid 400 +/-. The lot was packed in toilet paper. All individually wrapped and jammed into a box. Jammed! A lot more care should have been used when shipping a heavy army internationally.

This is the bunch broken up in shipping. Simple repairs. No chipped paint.

Amazon

Amazon got me again. Sucked another 25 bucks out of my pocket slicker than a Paris gipsy.

The Indian Mutiny struck at the very heart of the British Empire. If India was lost the whole edifice of British domination across its colonies was in jeopardy. Everything was at stake, Britain’s leading role in the word, its international commerce and the reputation of its armed forces.
Across the globe Britain ruled only through the compliance of the subordinate nations – but if India could throw off the imperialist yolk others might also rebel. The very fate of the Empire hung in the balance.
The situation was considered to be so serious that the British authorities extended the warrant of the newly-created Victoria Cross to include anyone, even civil servants, who performed prodigious acts of valor to save India, and save the Empire.
A total 182 VCs were awarded during the Mutiny, the same number as in the whole of the Second World War, climaxing in one day at Lucknow when twenty-four men displayed extraordinary valor to raise the siege – the most VCs ever won in a single day.

Sounds good huh? Now I just have to wait for my Xmas visit to the states.

MIA

Missing in action all of July and most of August. Or sitting around not doing shit. Well sort of both.
I have been out fishing a few times and hunting twice. On the river from a moving boat, I could not miss. When it came to birds, I could not hit shit. 11 shots and two birds.
Most of my time I have been reading thru the winter here. There is no snow and only gets down to 50F. Not so much a winter for a Syracuse boy.

Ancient Warfare magazine. I have a subscription and yet only read them in batches.

I have been plowing through books lately. I smoked this book. I think I read the whole thing in a day and a half.

Currently reading this one.  Snook’s book are always good. Just every time I pick it up, someone wants to talk to me.

           Currently reading this one too!

A little long winded, but interesting.

Violence of Action was a great read. Out of all of them I read this one the second fastest.

Unknown Wars was interesting. Sort of. Some parts of history I just don’t give a shit about. Those chapters were tough to get through.
