Warmaster Weekend

Back from HistroiCon. So much to do so little time. The convention AAR will be the next post. I got a training game in with Kal. Poor Kal suffered teaching me the Warmaster way.

We played the fantasy ver. I bought an Undead army, painted, off the Facebook group.  All my mates play so off the bridge I went. They are useless little bastards, but there is a shit ton of them.

Just giant block of bones rolling on Kal’s Dark Elves.

Learned from my 1st game against Karl to grab the hill and sit.

Pretty sure we kicked up the rules for buildings and fortifications

That lone group failed to the very last turn.

Storage after storage

Unpacking this mess is like the greatest Christmas ever! As each box vomits treasures long forgotten,  yes forgotten. Thats right forgotten, because I have found multiple, multiple orders of the same thing twice over. eBay and the post master will be busy these coming months.

As the sun rises over my new empire, it still looks likes the ruins of a once great war gaming mess. Almost everything is unpacked. Far from sorted into proper gaming categories. There is a smallish box of shit for ebay. And at least two full days before I can hit the painting table for some true brush time.

Last time is was stuck in the garage. It was remodeled but still the garage. This time, I get a work space in the garage and a separate gaming area.

The over head single crap bulb needs to be replace. Both printers are unboxed. Hell if I can find the filament. I did find all the Forge World Epic masters and molds. I owe Jon some roads.

I do have a space for a proper gaming table actually in the house. I just need that gaming table to be built. But what size? 6 by 8, 7x 12 is floating around in my head. Hopefully in the 6 feet under style. Lighting changed and a bar added, but the dart machine is up and running. And after 3 years rotting in storage it turned on first time.

The Sudan, FoF, Zombies, Epic, and 28mm ancients have been unpacked and placed in trays. The only the 20mm hummers suffered damage. All the ACW is in piss poor shape. A months work of sorting and basing issues.

Moving

Finally after years storage has vomited out a hidden treasure of minis. All you poor bastards hoping my unit would pop up for auction, haha. No that was a panic trigger the whole time my minis sat in storage. What if it gets some how fubar and I lose it all in an auction. I would wake up at night to check online, ensuring my shit was paid for.
26 feet of soldiers
Not exactly 26′ of soldiers. More like 50% soldiers and books. Those heavy ass boxes broke my back. (The rest useless household items like spoons and shit.)

The garage is half full. Including a new paint station.

The pile next to the stool is all GeoHex. It like christmas!

The long line of boxes full of lead, half paint armies, Epic shit for days, and 2 or 3 completed time periods.

Warmaster Weekend "Terrain"

This one and two other games out of Walley’s basement. Last year. Since then they were kicking around in the 10mm ancients box. Old Glory, old school. I got them 10 for 3. No clue to availability or price.

Command stand and skirmish stand for size. Buildings are modern height, 8 foot ceilings. Other than that, I would say they are in size.

These are JR dent-stone. Came with a lot I got off ebay. Some reason the flock had stratified. Same bag, but the last ones done turned bright green???

Warmaster Weekend "Roma"

Yellow shields. More burnt dirty yellow. Look at that group below. They look impressive! The shield decals, nope. No transfers.
The super shiny copper bronze helmets, will be more like this dude’s.

Examples of yellow shields I will hand paint. No transfers!

 Two full 3 stand units.

I didn’t get too far on them this weekend. I was busy packing for Cold Wars. I did get to finish this group and a command stand.
