The terrible epic buildings part II

The top, no the entire structure is not level. None of the independent buildings are square or level or anything else. So far my best efforts look as if a retarded kid stacked them. It is not my fault as these things were totally fucked to begin with.

The roofs were some what leveled by filling in the top with plaster. Then sanded and the edges cleaned up.

The bottom was sanded as flat as possible or to establish enough territory to attach something solid. In an attempt to shore up or square the bottom trying to create a foundation. 2cm plastic card was glued to the bottom.
Onward to the base the building will sit on. Plastic card base built up will cork and detailed out with plastic card. It is all kind of what is laying around at the time.

I failed to take pictures along the way. SO here it sits. I sprayed it home depot light grey and angled sprayed it white from twice the distance. Not a whole lot of effort going into painting it. So much time was pissed away just trying to straighten the fucking thing out. Yet upon examination, you or any other reasonable individual would guess that a drunk blind retard put it together.

The dudes are 15mm Carthaginians. Itched brass eagle, plastic eagles from the drop pod kit, and the steps and everything else is plastic card.

The roof is odd bits of plastic card.

There is about two more hours of pain to complete this piggy. Being a side project, it could be done be fall in.

Never ending unpacking FINISHED

I got a bookshelf off of craig’s. Organized my mess. Then work was giving away shelving. I took two, to double my storage space. Next, wall space was give up for a game freezer.

Popping smoke today and getting shit done.

Now I am finished unpacking and organizing shit. It was a total mess of scales and minis everywhere. Plus I dragged the shit out for NEAT and HistoriCon and got a new job.
Everything is going into its own box by scale or game system. All the armies are labeled in the jewelry tray thingies. I did find all my river sections!!!!

Need to build a work table for terrain and larger custom builds

I am extra lucky. As I have scored the garage as a work space AND a large chunk of the family room for a proper gaming table. I don’t have a table in the house or a plan for one yet. I will build one within the quarter. Thinking about a 7 x 5, prefect for RF&F and any other system will fit with room to spare.

Plus I bought an Undead Warmaster army (as seen at HistoriCon). Can’t go wrong at 200 points painted for 249 shipped.

and some terrain (bought at HistoriCon).

Warmaster Terrain

Right back onto the desert theme.  Starting off proper with a fish tank pyramid.

The scale is ok for Epic. It is about 5 times too small for 10mm. Above it sits on a GW foam. It 5 28mm holes longhand 2 1/2 rows high. The thing could not be much bigger.
In true scale, it would be unplayable. At that size it would be the only thing on a table half. A 10mm dude on a camel should be pretty close to two-isn blocks tall.
It is not a great pyramid, It doesn’t have the 8 sides and the top is more representative of the bent pyramid. So my excuse is its a earlier bent pyramid.

Still I gave it the metal cap stone.

The oasis I got long long ago. It is one of the rubbery dudes. I mounted it to 2.5mm thick plastic card. I had to! The thing was overly flexible and I worried about how long a finished piece would last. If I was to pour resin water, would the resin pop out?

As always scale matters. Cheap china-men ebay palms. I did chop the truck and then buried them 1cm into the rubber dude. They are kind of close to proper height, but if they were true scale you would be knocking them over all game long.

Shogun magnetic bases. Why? Mostly because I want movement trays! They are based good enough to play and not feel like a cunt.
I am or my wife is rebasing my undead army. She was board and breaking my balls. I needed something she can’t mess up. Something to train her on. Sniffing glue helps with the realization that she is now doing my shit for me.

Movement trays sprayed with Army Painter. And hosed the sides of the magnetic bases. (thanks Eric) I got the lips as you can see.

Finally I have started the Araby army. None of which will be GW. That dude in Italy selling recasts and the rest of the eBay rapists can suck it. I am old glory and pendraken.

Warmaster Weekends

The fantasy version of warmaster today. Kal’s Dark Elves Vs my undead, 2000 points. We were at 6 Feet Under once again. They are very nice.

Deployment

The center cooperated for the most part.

My center collapsing. Stupid witch elves.

Any one by this hedge row rolled like shit. Once away from it, they were champs.

Then there is these two. Never moved. Failed every time as they sat out the game on the flanks.

I ordered movement trays and mag bases for the new army.

The terrible Epic buildings

I got them off of eBay from so dude in the EU. I bitched a storm about there shitty quality. here;

They sat in a box since while I brewed about them. Unpacking all my stuff spit these terrible bastards out again. I have some free time between jobs and all my stuff. Out came the saws and cutters. And a shit ton of greenstuff + plastic card.

I wanted an old school-ish large building. I will use the STC tank factory foot print as a base. (it is 100x100mm FW square, sort of square)

6 total. 4 long and 2 square ones

After all the green stuff and plastic card re-enforcement, it’s foot print is too large for the STC tank factory. Had to go wife by 2 cms. If I am designing a custom base, why not go balls deep.

The two long side will have a strong foundation. While the center structures will get some steps and details.

Tom’s NAM bunker part I

Many month’s ago, Tom asked if I could build bunker 51 for him. Bunker 51 was constructed by the french. Then the US occupied it and a battle happened. The bunker took a full on ass beating but stayed strong and is still there today.
Tom doesn’t care what it is exactly made from. Only that the bottom, base plate of the model be from 2mm plastic card. It has to support a resin sandbag bunker on top.

Tom’s sketch. How I go about building from his sketches.

He would like it as thin as possible. Yet it must be able to support the resin topper. So, I will build this beast like a house. Then there will be no problem supporting the resin or an issue taking it out for a Con.

Historical part III

My next game was 20mm Sudan. The GM made up his own rules. They are really pretty good. They were a mix of black powder and Sands of the Sudan and RF&F. Square battle mat based movement and ranges. Ranges proved difficult as kitty corner shots were never calculated the same. The leadership and how to kill a leader was not so convention friendly.
Otherwise it was a good set of rules. I had a handle half way thru the 2nd turn. My side of the table was playing faster. I had a good time and appreciate all the effort he took painting those dudes up.
I have more painted than him today. With the exception of Naval Brigade.  Maybe I should think about a game for Cold Wars!

 Cool little add on.

The dial counters were a good idea…..until assault occurs. Then they just get in the way and none remember which one goes where.

The square being assaulted on the corners.

British squares collapse as the Naval gunners take the worst of it.

 AWI game

Historical part II

My Last game Friday. They had one too many players. The GM let me run the locals. I had groups jumping on the crushed spaceship, stealing stuff. A group delaying contractors for whiskey and smokes. Groups randomly attacking each other and the contractors. In the end the dictator got skinned by the predators, we stole the exploding thing, selling it to a group of contractors who then blow up, we stole a spear predator thingy.
